During my professional career, I worked as an academic teacher and lecturer at the Notre Dame College in England; in Oman, I taught at Sultan Qaboos University, the German University of Technology and Al Musanna College of Technology. I also held a teaching position at Murray State University in the USA.  I also managed several programmes of study as a Curriculum Coordinator for English as a Foreign Language and IELTS and the Head of Studies.

My experience in teaching English at different levels is vast and varied. I have been working with a cross-section of age groups in international and multilingual settings and environments. My area of specialty is teaching General English as well as English for Specific, Vocational and Academic Purposes (Technical English, English for Business and Economics, English for Engineering, English for Medicine, problem and project-based learning, soft skills) and preparing students for various examinations: KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS.

My knowledge of the latest source materials and developments in the area of English as a Foreign Language Teaching combined with a wealth of experience using the latest computer and online programmes allows me to make my lessons not only interesting and informative, but also interactive.

Over the years, I have visited, lived and worked in many countries on many continents. Being a well-travelled person has given me a high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity. I approach teaching holistically, paying attention not only to the language itself, but also developing and raising cultural awareness and promoting intercultural communication and understanding.
